New and unique antibodies for cutting edge research into cures for the major killer diseases

A current and future growth area in signaling-related antibody demand is derived from recent and on-going extensive interest in the analysis of the cell division cycle. This area is key in the research into finding cures for the killer diseases of our century such as heart disease, muscular dystrophy, diabetes and cancers.

Nuclear envelope, nuclear pore complex & nuclear transport proteins.

The structures of the nucleus contribute enormously to the control of gene expression, and unsurprisingly it now emerges that serious genetic diseases, such as cardiomyopathy, muscular dystrophy, white fat disorders leading to type II diabetes and peripheral neuropathy, are caused by mutations in nuclear envelope proteins.

Nuclear Pore & transport proteins are involved in viral import into the cell and cancer, as well as specific genetic diseases.

Cell Cycle, Checkpoints & DNA repair proteins.

Without checkpoint proteins, cell division would occur with damaged or incompletely replicated DNA, which could result in genetic mutation or cell death. Failure of these DNA surveillance mechanisms is found to correlate with a higher incidence of cancer, and a better understanding of these mechanisms may provide new opportunities to reverse and arrest cancer.

ImmuQuest carries an extensive number of very high quality and well characterised antibodies in the above areas, and you can be assured that we will continue to add exciting new specificities as the research in these areas develops.
